A Look Inside the ASD Trade Show

ASD Trade Show, the nation’s largest general merchandise consumer trade show, will open it’s Las Vegas doors August 4th through August 7th, 2013 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. More than 2,800 vendors are expected to be on-site, with around 45,000 attendees expected to attend. For independent retailers, the ASD Show is a fantastic destination, offering a one-stop-shop approach to product categories that include gift, home, toys, novelty, sports licensing, beauty, smoke, apparel and more.

Now in it’s 53rd year, the ASD Show consistently keeps attendees engaged and excited with their constant introduction of new product categories, vendors and special events. Among the highlights of the upcoming August show includes:

1. Returning to this summer’s show will be the Gourmet section, where returning vendors Russell Stover and and ChocolatRouge will be on-hand. Jelly Belly will be attending for the first time, as well, delivering even more gourmet variety to retailers. Additionally, retailers can expect to discover some stand-out, top-notch indie gourmet vendors that include sweets, treats and other goodies that all types of retailers can enjoy.

2. Opening night of the ASD Show will end with a party and live performance from 80’s cover band Phoenix at the Hard Rock Cafe. ASD knows that their four day show has a lot to offer, but they’re big believers in having some fun, too! True to ASD standards, they deliver a stellar show AND a stellar range of fun for their buyers to take part in, including this opening night party.

3. While discovering products among the 2,800 vendors is no quick task, veteran attendees of the ASD Show also plan time to learn from ASD’s educational seminars, as well. This year, attendees will be able to learn from Suzy Teele of SnapRetail, who will be discussing holiday event marketing, in addition to returning speakers Marc Gorlin from Kabbage and Bill McNulty of Independent Retailer Magazine. 4. ASD will welcome new and veteran buying groups to their August Show, where they cater to the unique needs of each unique group. Returning buying groups include the Association for Hospital Volunteer Resource Professionals, which represents over 100 shops, as well as Sierra Pacific Crafts, which has 120 stores within their group. ASD also will host an invitation only New Buyer Happy Hour for new groups and retailers coming to ASD for the first time.

5. Registration for the ASD Show is free for buyers! Register is still open, and attendees can expect an improved on-site registration process this August – maximizing their overall show experience. To register, simply click here.
