ASD’s New Gourmet Section “Sweet” With Buyers
For years the ASD Show has been known for it’s vast variety in catering to an extensive amount of retail buyers. Yet just when you think they “have it all”, it turns out they can offer buyers even more! Their current show, with opening day March 17, 2013, introduced a Gourmet foods section that received rave reviews from buyers and vendors alike.
“We’ve been busy all day,” a rep from Russell Stover Candies stated. And from what we saw – we couldn’t agree more. Each booth was packed and retailers were excited for this new addition to ASD.
While candy samples and other tasty goodies lured customers to their booths, it didn’t take retailers long to realize the sales opportunities that gourmet goodies could add for their stores. Many attending ASD retailers already carry gourmet products, which makes their trip to ASD even more of a “one-stop-shop” for their store buying. For those retailers who don’t carry gourmet, it was easy to identify that just a few – if only even one – addition can be a fun addition to their store assortment Some tasty vendors that ASD introduced to their buyers include:
Decadent. Flavorful. Different. Among the many attributes to ChocolatRouge, their luxurious tastes and beautiful shelf appeal stand out. With three distinct wine flavors to choose from – Sweet Red Blend, Milk Chocolate and Dark Red Blend – ChocolatRouge makes a great addition to gift shops, wine stores, novelty boutiques, restaurants or resorts, museum gift shops and many others – available to those over 21, of course. Now don’t get the wrong idea here. Shit is actually a Yiddish word that translates to “throw a little of this & a little of that” when cooking onto whatever it is your cooking. And for Chef Marla Cohen, she threw a lot of shit around! A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Chef Marla has 30 plus years in the food industry. With a good sense of humor on her side, as well, Chef Marla become known for her cooking and particularly for her spices. As a result? A line of super tasty shit – literally. From Super Shit to No Shit to Reel Shit, the Super Shit Spices collection offers a variety of shit flavors that all taste buds will love. Their fun packaging and conversation starter names is a great addition to retailers. Discover them at the ASD Show in the Gourmet section on the lower level of South Hall or check them out at SuperShitSpices.com.
Since 1923, Russell Stover has been a favorite among households nationwide. Recognized as a favorite chocolate to savor and a favorite gift to give, it’s no surprise the introduction of Russell Stover was such a hit to ASD. Retailers were thrilled to discover all their products, including brands Whitman’s and Pangburn’s in addition to the Russell Stover collection. They are the largest manufacturer of boxed chocolates in North America, offering retailers a great chance to be a part of America history (remember, they have been around since 1923). Plus, like many indie store owners, Russell Stover takes great pride in family values and traditions. Our thought? ASD should be among their new traditions! Discover them in the South Hall, lower level in the Gourmet section at the Las Vegas Convention Center or check them out at RussellStover.com.
