Inspiration For The Dreamers Out There

There is something very motivating about chatting with an artist who has created a living around their work. Whether it’s designing jewelry, developing a clothing line or creating handmade pieces, whatever their “art” is, it’s always incredible to see their passion come to life both creatively and professionally. What is even more impressive, however, is to chat with designers / artists / crafters / etc. who pay their bills and even make some money doing what they love. The thing about the creative type is not everyone wants this, strives for this or cares about this… and that’s okay. But for those that do, it’s often hard to see through their blurry artist vision into the business goggles they have to put on every now and again to make their work a monetary success.

Now just so we all understand, success is measured in a million different ways and certainly one single opinion doesn’t define it. That said, the constant desire to be successful with a monetary reward is something many artists strive for. Yet many find it hard to accomplish.

Below are some inspiring, famous quotes that provide inspiration, guidance and reassurance that dreams can come true.

“If you can dream it, you can do it.”

-Walt Disney, founder of The Walt Disney Company

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

-Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple and Pixar

“I had to make my own living and my own opportunity! But I made it! Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them!”

-Madam C.J. Walker, creator of beauty products and the first female self-made millionaire

“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.”

-Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari & Chuck E. Cheese’s

“I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. What I cannot accept is not trying.”

-Michael Jordan, Legendary NBA Basketball Player

To quote Chuck E. Cheese founder Nolan Bushnell – become a doer and not a dreamer! Make your dreams come true!

Thank you for this article! Another wonderful way you encourage all of us who get to wake up and do what we love every single day – some days more profitable than others (and to some money is the only way they define success – my definition of success is definitely NOT money driven – it’s nice but it’s not an end all be all) but every day I feel more alive than I have in years. To be able to have a business in the creative/fashion industry AND raise my 3 beautiful daughters makes my life truly full!
