Brightpearl offers inventory management and accounting software for omnichannel retailers, allowing for POS, purchasing, CRM, inventory and financials to be managed in a single system. Founded by entrepreneurs Chris Tanner and Andy Mulvenna, Tanner and Mulvenna had a skateboard company that they “increasingly became frustrated with the complexity of running” and as a result, began looking for software that could help. Existing options were either too expensive or limited in what they could do, so in 2006 Tanner started developing Brightpearl and as he was developing it, realized it could also help many other retailers who were struggling with some of the same challenges. As explained on the Brightpearl website, “in the summer of 2007, Brightpearl was piloted with its first customer with great success. Chris decided to sell Lush (his skateboard company) so he could focus on developing Brightpearl. He contacted Andy and they reunited to get Brightpearl off the ground.”

Since founded, Brightpearl has grown to 1,400 customers plus worldwide who have processed more than $2.5 billion dollars of orders with Brightpearl. Their goal of helping to ease the challenges of retail and offer accessibly for merchants to more comfortably run their businesses continues to evolve as the landscape of retail does, as well.
