Some of the Best Moments From ASD Market Week Summer 2017
What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas when you are a part of ASD Market Week. With over 2,700 exhibitors to discover, over 350 new vendors to explore and over 100 educational events to experience, attendees of ASD were equipped to experience a lot… as well as take what they learned and discovered back to their stores.
At ASD, everything I am looking for is in one spot,” explains first time attendee Brett Daugherty of Fort Collins, Colorado.
From apparel to accessories to gifts to novelty to beauty and home accents and much, much more, there was an abundance of inventory assortment for retailers to explore while at ASD Market Week. Merchants were able to explore 19 inventory categories while at ASD, helping them identify high margin inventory for a variety of categories that their stores may need. Among the stand-out vendors that were at the Summer Market of ASD Market Week included new exhibitors Papyrus Greeting Cards, infinity scarf company SHOLDIT, emerging drink-ware company Bewaltz and Hallmark, which introduced attendees to their new store-in-a-store program perfect for independent merchants.
Longtime ASD attendee Milaca Bussard from Redding, California explains that “I keep returning to ASD because of the variety it has to offer. I live in a small town and can’t depend on just traveling salesmen and vendors to show me what the latest trends in product assortment are. Coming to ASD is important for my business and introduces me to what consumers really want.”
Expanding on this, Bussard shares that the margins she is able to gain on the products she finds at ASD are “critical for my business success, as well.”
In addition to strong inventory assortment and high margins available for retailers to bring back to their stores, ASD Market Week also offered attendees various networking and educational experiences. The Independent Retailer Conference holds a their bi-annual flagship events at ASD, as well as the Internet Merchants Association offers various educational sessions for attendees of ASD. All education at ASD is complimentary as part of the show attendance.
By attending the educational sessions offered from ASD Market Week, I feel like I have mentors and industry leaders giving me guidance. I simply can’t gain this without coming to ASD,” shares Valerie Chukelu of Richmond, Texas.
