Education Stands Out At Day 2 of ASD Show
Day two of the Independent Retailer Conference at the ASD Show was chalk-full of essential educational sessions for independent retailers, including a total of eighteen different sessions today from industry leading experts, retail support companies and other retail leaders. Our first hour long session was delivered by Suzy Teele from SnapRetail, sharing with attendees ways to do a month’s worth of marketing in two hours or less. The day concluded with keynote speakers Rich Kizer and Georganne Bender, international retail experts, who spoke about ways to increase your in-stores sales.
Throughout the day at the ASD Show, buyers were able to experience a variety of learning opportunities that discussed everything from in-store displays and merchandising to ways to better inventory to how to sell successfully online.
I traveled from Hawaii to the ASD Show specifically because of the Independent Retailer Conference, and am thrilled I can both buy at ASD as well as gain great education for my store,” Larry Campbell, Gift Shop Manager and Buyer of the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park in Honolulu, Hawaii told Independent Retailer Conference’s Founder Nicole Reyhle.
Among the eighteen sessions Campbell experienced at the Independent Retailer Conference at the ASD Show included Laurie Marshall from Marshall Law Group talking about the worst things that can happen to your small business if you don’t take the appropriate legal steps when creating your small business or shortly thereafter. Chris Green, Co-Founder of Scanpower, spoke about how technology in retail is changing – specifically discussing how customers shop, search, and pay for their retail purchases. The Vice President of Marketing for ShoppinPal, Jason Trout, spoke about how to combat showrooming and how win back customers who are now able to simply browse your in-store merchandise on their phones.
Of the 55 fifteen minute sessions that are scheduled for the Independent Retailer Conference at the ASD Show in March 2014, attendees have heard 31 sessions so far. Future sessions among the remaining for days 3 & 4 of the show include presentations from SnapRetail, Vend US, Scanpower, and ShoppinPal with topics that range from event marketing to how to prosper in turbulent times to taking your retail business to more successful next levels.
