GlobalShop & Retail Minded Partner Together to Help Independent Retailers

Geneva, IL | February 14, 2014 – Retail Minded, the nation’s only retail lifestyle publication and community committed to independent retail education, and GlobalShop, the world’s largest annual event for retail design and shopper marketing, have partnered together to support independent retailers with their in-store experiences, including in-store fixtures,  signage, store design, retail operations and more.

To launch the Retail Minded and GlobalShop partnership, GlobalShop will introduce an Independent Retailer Experience at their March 2014 show, offering retailers a variety of new elements and opportunities to serve the independent retailer. Unlike ever before, Global Shop will support this unique audience of merchants and show attendees by offering them an educational track, as well as complimentary, 20 minute consultations with select GlobalShop exhibitors and industry leaders. The goal of both of these new additions to the GlobalShop show will be to offer independent retail attendees key insight and support for their unique design and retail support needs.

Doug Hope, Founder and Show Director of GlobalShop, explains that while GlobalShop will continue to support large retailers, GlobalShop aims to better support all types of retailers – both large and small.

We are not fully serving the marketplace unless we serve the entire marketplace. Moreover, indie retailers have given us inspiration to the retail design space. Often times, very small retailers make a very big impact on the market. And let’s not forget, every retailer that became big has started small,” Hopes explains.

To help kick-off this new partnership, Retail Minded’s Founder and Publisher Nicole Leinbach Reyhle will lead a presentation that discusses navigating a retail environment through the eyes of a consumer. Internationally recognized retail experts Kizer & Bender will also present at the March 2014 GlobalShop, discussing store layouts designed to increase sales.

This includes store design, as well as the many aspects that impact this.
